Pottukadali Thogayal(or)Friedgram thuvaiyal (No Cook Recipe)


No cook side-dish recipe. Pottukadalai thuvaiyal/ fried gram dal thogayal is a bliss on a lazy day. Just 3 ingredients, no need to switch on the stove and can be whipped up in minutes. Serve with steamed rice, rotis or rasam rice.

Most Indian cooking needs the stove to be turned on, when you feel really lazy and would want to make something quick and easy this pottukadalai/ friedgram dal / roasted channadal thuvaiyal recipe will be handy. Such recipes are a bliss to people at kitchen once in a while.

This is my mother's recipe and I love the coconuty garlicky flavor of this thugayal. This coconut thogayal recipe can seem simple, yet when made on the tired days to go with hot rasam rice it is heavenly.

Ingredients Required:

Pottukadalai/ fried gramdal/ roasted channa dal 1/4cup
Coconut, grated 1-2 Tbsp
Garlic cloves 2-4
Salt To taste


Directions

1. Add all the ingredients to the mixe and dry grind it without water.

2. Then add little water and grind it to make a thick paste.

3. Serve with hot rice and ghee or with rotis, rasam rice or with any spicy kuzhambhu.


Tips

1. Anything and every part of this recipe is customizable.
2. You could add even dry red chilies for more garlicky heat.
