Roasted Gram Dal Chutney

Roasted gram chutney is one of the basic recipes made in south Indian homes at least twice a week. It is the perfect alternative for coconut chutney. The Intense flour of roasted gram enhances the regular coconut chutney.
Ingredients Required:
Roasted gram dal | 1/2 cup |
Coconut, grated | 2 tbsp |
Green chilies | 1 big |
Ginger | 1 tsp |
Salt | To taste |
Tempering:
Oil | 1 tsp |
Mustard | 1 tsp |
Red chili | 1 |
Urad dal (optional) | 1 tsp |
Asofetida | Pinch |
Curry leaves | 1 spring |
Directions
1. Grind roasted gram dal, coconut, green chilies and ginger together in a blender with little water into a paste.
2. For tempering , heat oil in a pan and add mustard, red chili , urad dal, Asofetida and fry for 2 mins then switch off the flame and finally add curry leaves.
3. Now add tempering to the ground mixture and serve.
