Sweet-Bread-and-Egg-Paniyaram

Feeding your kids with a healthy breakfast on a busy morning can be challenging, that too when they say no to eggs. Thus I was browsing through the internet for a recipe with egg that’s sweet for my toddler I happen to stumble upon this awesome combination. Yes its awesome because my little todd loves anything sweet, small finger food that’s round in shape. And as a mom I'm happy to give her this sweet treat as a morning breakfast as it has eggs and she happens to consume most egg out of this recipe than any other recipe. It’s a win win.

In my meal planner I have eggy Mondays for my todd. Since she is not a big fan of egg, I have to hide it. After finding this recipe I alternate her breakfast with oats pancakes & this bread paniyaram. Unlike pancakes this gets a cakey texture and even my husband loves. So one shot healthy breakfast for all.

Hope you will also give this a try and enjoy you busy morning watching your kids n family eat healthy with less effort in the kitchen.

Ingredients Required:

Bread slice 1
Egg 1
Brown Sugar/ Sugar 3 tbsp
Milk 1 tbsp
Cinnamon powder 1 tsp
Ghee As needed

Directions

1. Cut/ Tear the bread slices into small bits for easy grinding.

2. Grind together bread, Brown sugar, cinnamon powder in a blender into a crumbly mixture. (check the video)

3. In a clean bowl crack open an egg and beat it until frothy.

4. Now gently mix in the bread mixture and milk along with the egg.

5. Rest it for couple of minutes so that the bread absorbs the liquid.

6. Meanwhile heat up a paniyaram maker/chatti, and add ghee / oil in all the slots.

7. Once hot portion the batter into each slot and cook for few minutes. Then flip and cook for few more minutes or until done.

8. Knife / toothpick inserted comes out clean.

9. Serve hot and enjoy plain / with chocolate sauce/ milkmaid.

Tips

1. I have used salty bread thus have added more sugar, if you use sweet bread you can reduce the amount of sugar.
2. If you want softer texture you could trim the corners of the bread.
3. You can add any flavoring of your choice.
